Moore can double up at lingfield

On Wednesday (July 14th) in the 2.30 race at Lingfield CLOUDY CITY can add another to Mark Johnston’s ever-increasing win tally by accounting for Hughie Morrison’s Yonder. This improving three year old looked to have improved for the step up to two miles on his latest outing at Catterick. He still failed to win however, finding J Howard Johnson’s Bergonzi a little too tough. That one had dropped down the handicap but looked to have bounced back to its best form so that effort may have been better than it looks at first glance and this looks very winnable, although the price is likely to reflect that.

In the following race (3.00) Gary Moore’s SHIANDA needs to step up considerably on her recent handicap debut, where she finished a never-nearer 4th of 10 behind Milngavie. That looked a little better than her three runs in maiden company, where she started at 100/1, 66/1 and 100/1. The slightly shorter trip here might also help. She’ll have Ryan Moore in the saddle for the first time in this and any money would be significant. Wednesday might be the day when it all clicks into place.
Ryan can complete a double in the 4.00 race on the card aboard Sir Michael Stoute’s APACE who shaped with promise on her Newbury debut, finishing fourth after running as though the experience would bring her on significantly.
