On the subject of Julian Wilson, anyone remember the handicapper Morgannwg (Welsh for Glamorgan), who JW repeated called as "Mor-gann-ooog"?

Re: One amazing hour - Aintree 1977

Re: C4: 2,000gns post-race coverage

Didn't see the whole program but not giving out the full SPs (not even on screen while Kevin Manning was interviewed) was sloppy. While I think Clare Balding was correct in mentioning the Doping affair in her interview with Sheikh Mo, it would have been nice to have some more questions about Dawn Ap...

Re: Trainers. Why are they successful (or not)?

Not sure when the Australian Pattern began, but as the European Pattern only started in 1971, trying to compare Vincent to Bart in Group 1 wins alone is futile. (Example:- Nijinsky and Sir Ivor would not have contributed to V'OBs Group 1 total). Enjoying reading peoples thoughts on this subject thou...

Re: this saturday

If so I question the wisdom of having two relatively low key meetings this Saturday (albeit a week after the National) and next week we have the Ayr (Scottish National) / Newbury (Greenham) double header. Would it have made more sense t...

Re: A Great Grand National

While I did notice that this years National field didn't have some of the "edge of your seat" drama as of previous years - on reflection I think this years race is the blueprint going forward. It's far easier to go into work on the following Monday Morning and describe a race where horses ...
