Laddies' first-half profits were out today. I'm delighted to see that they are still stripping our poorest communities via their FOBT's so their profits in that sphere are accordingly massively up.

However, their on-line offerings have done appallingly, to the extent that Digital Director Richard Ames left the company earlier in the week.

I know many of you will be concerned about Richard's financial future so I'm happy to report that he will be collecting a "compensation payment" for his dismal failure of £506,585.

Nice work etc

Mike

Richard Ames is one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in Ladbrokes and it is indicative of the new management structure within the Company that he is being dispensed with after his sideways move in 2011.
While I will make no comment on his payoff, Ladbrokes have lost a fine brain and an outstanding businessman.
