Hurdles run-ins will vary as it’s fairly easy to move hurdles to use the best ground. Perth’s run-in on the hurdles course has varied between extremes 150 yards and 300 yards in recent seasons. The Kelso hurdles run-in was 210 yards last Sunday, but I presume it will vary from meeting to meeting. Steeplechase fences are normally fixed in position giving a fixed run-in, though I note that the last fence at Kelso has been built in sections so it may be moved in time.

Many thanks for that info Rob.
The computer program asks if the the run-in is either more or less than 880 yards so i’m guessing most are less anyway.
Cheers,
Simon
i’d bank on an average run – in of 200yds, most courses tend to be favouring a shorter run in these days (possibly to do with the whip??), the odd course like Kelso is a long run on the chase course, likewise Cartmel. Sedgefield used to have a 400+yd run in, but not sure if they’ve changed it.
Cheltenham festival hurdle run in is ridiculously short these days.
