Strange but True!

Dawn Approach £200 e/w 16/1 Ladbrokes 2013 2000gns.

If he remains in the care of Mr Bolger all is not lost yet.

I expected it Eclipse but after Tha'ir winning on Saturday I thought Godolphin might have been happy with him as their 'New Approach' colt!Time will Tell but he'll be aimed for the 2000 gns for sure as he's a miler!

Always been a fan of the horse myself Darren, put him up for the 2011 Derby at 33/1 as he reminded me of Workforce.I believe he's a different horse to the one St Nicholas Abbey beat in the States last year and is still improving. He would be my King George/Arc horse for sure and I'm still kicking myself for not backing him last Saturday!

Bruce, 2 winners on Tuesday, 1 Winner on Wednesday, 3 winners on Thursday, 1 winner on Friday and 1 winner on Saturday,I bet in 25 races and even had a 16/1 winner..........And still lost over a grand! I've spent the last few days analyzing my wagers and betting patterns for this years Royal Ascot and have come to the conclusion I just didn't put the hours of study in required! What sums it up to me was my failure to back Ishvana in the Jersey. At 20/1 she was twice the price she should have been and even then would have been twice the price of Reply.Their collateral form through their respective Irish Guineas efforts put the filly ahead of the colt from the same stable and with the 3lb allowance it only confirmed that her slightly faster time at level weights gave her another 11/2l on the colt! Thankfully Simenon, Dawn Approach and Colour Vision kept me from having not only a financial disaster
but a confidence one too!

Gord ARVIKA is got the same owner, trainer and jockey but unlike Mikael this horse will be suited to fences. dont know if you saw his novice chase win he was brilliant.Yeah he beat trees but look at
Camelot,SNA and Santcuaire who they beat 1st time up but all improved. i think if he stays fit he be a top chaser of 2013.

Darren, who am I to put you off your 'Arvika',you are as good a judge as anyone I know,he may well romp in,my gut feeling is he'd be a better 'Jewson' sort.As for Nathaniel,I have backed him for the Arc,he's the only horse I have done so far but I'm still very keen on Sea Moon too. Dawn Approach going to Godolphin doesn't concern me at all, in fact they at least keep you in the loop so to speak,Jim Bolger could pull him out of the 2000 gns on the morning of the race having told us he was buzzin the night before,I'm more interested in the horses profile than the trainers and I see a horse who will improve a good 10lb just for the step up to 7f,a Winter on his back in Dubai will set him up nicely to go straight for the 2000gns as there really is no other race for him,he's way too good for the Meydan races and he's not a Kentucky Derby sort so my 20/1 sits comfortably in me A*se pocket mate!Cristoforo Colombo will also be trained for the 2000gns and at 25/1 he's the 'Coolmore' horse I like.Generous Ladbrokes!

I was given 33/1 odds for Patkai to win the World Hurdle for Rebecca Curtis today and I have duly obliged to the tune of £475.

Gord any thoughts on racing in Ireland some top races i like IMPERIAL MONARCH in derby i dont think Camelot will run in heavy ground.

My FATHER OF SCIENCE runs this week at a 1m6 a trip that bring even more improvement out of him and could be a leger horse in terms of behind Camelot

WAS i think will win pretty polly and beat Izzi Top

And a few nice sprint races at the meeting as well. Any thoughts from you gord.

I got plenty thoughts on why Trainers feed us a load of Baloney most of the time Darren.I said before Epsom that I fancied Astrology even more for the Irish Derby and I haven't changed my mind, all this 'Bull' about him finding Royal Ascot coming too soon just doesn't wash when you see the likes of Simenon running over 5 miles that week! As for running the Irish Derby at 7.40pm,some 4 hours after the first race you can guarantee the ground will be like a ploughed field and who will love that? 'Astrology' of course.I hope 'Camelot' runs as on real testing ground there's only one winner,I can see it in the stars,I've got a whole fiver on at 75's and 50's on the machine and 33/1 e/w to 3 places! Looking forward to see Cristoforo Colombo in the Railway, whatever he does on soft ground he'll improve a stone for it on Good ground, just like his Sire did! Arctic in the sprint catches my eye too!
