SEA MOON at 100/30 my pick won over CD last time he is the one to beat as i don't think SNA is suited to Ascot.

Any ground with the word 'firm' in the description would be a concern for Sea Moon backers in my opinion.

HGM: I have already done the double, very interesting getting some prices from the mean bookies though!

Lowest offered was 16s! I ask you that's a joke but the 28s from Laddies was duly accepted and is not far off the mark 8)

St. Nicholas Abbey - proviso * if ground is good to firm.

I think he'll have too much finishing speed for Sea Moon.

St Nick hasn't the same level of form going right handed and is a poor fav for this. Took 14s on Sea Moon the day before his Hardwicke and have topped up since. Can't see him getting beat in all honesty.

Would Sea Moon backers be concerned about ground any firmer than good?

You'd have to be a bit concerned although it never stopped SMS running him at Ascot but then he did only scrape home that day.

The only problem with that is, you wouldn't know how fit SMS had him that day. Not very knowing him.

St Nick is on the other side of the fence, he would definitely prefer faster ground.

I'm banking on Sea Moon having improved past St Nick even if the ground is in the latter's favour. If it happens to come up good or good to soft then I think he'll definitely beat him and the others.

I the ground came up really fast the worry is SMS might switch him to the easier Group 2 race but then he expects to win that anyway with Fiorente.

Good double don't say I never told you so.

I'm very keen on the French horse, Reliable Man. I believe he won the French Derby last year in a good time and in a smooth manner, running on. He could well have improved and be even better over a mile and a half.

Plus, I have a suspicion he's been laid out for this as his prime target for this year, though that's speculation. It was the outsider of the field, available at 16s with PP, the last time I looked.

Considering the ground is likely to come up soft surely Nathaniel has a better chance than Sea Moon, being a proven G1 winner with plenty of stamina?

Though I am a fan I fear the ground is not going to be right for St Nic. His record on soft is poor.

Sea Moon has been impressive whenever he's run on soft so the surface would be advantageous to both Sea Moon and Nathaniel.

However, Nobody seems to want to back Sea Moon on the exchanges at the moment. Is Stoutey's Star met with a setback?
