Another big race Saturday handicap that should be a bookies delight :D

However we love to try and beat them so what are we looking for in this race:

rated 94-99 preferably 4yo or older!
RPR of 90+ and ran in last 40 days
Must have won over 7f and a Class 2 or 3 handicap.
Never won a Class 1 race.

This looks a tight contest but I have backed one early doors from a stable that keeps getting winners but cannot get a good sequence of winners (yet)!! Mr Balding loves these big races and his Decent Fella ran a cracker FTO this season at Ascot finishing behind Eton Forever (i think!!).

The run will have brought him on greatly and he has course form, distance form and looks an improver. 16s EW was always a knocking price and looks very tasty now as he is jt fav at 6s with some bookies but available at 10s with Fred. Not too many dangers to note which is always a worry for these races but Jamesie is weighted to finish very close and could provide his biggest threat along with Captain Bertie who has already won for me this season :D

Good luck all who play

This looks a real minefield with only 8lb separating the 20 runners. Two jump out for me, Bonnie Brae and Stevie Thunder. BB likes soft ground and although on a high enough rating, e has good course form and a good draw in the middle. Similarly ST has done well at Newmarket, ran well LTO and seemingly goes on any ground.

King Of Jazz and Stevie Thunder.

King Of Jazz is not the most consitent, but a return to his Victoria Cup third (7f / soft) gives him every chance. He's floating around an attractive enough mark, and if he puts his best hoof forward he could reach the frame at a big price.

Stevie Thunder has a win and two placed efforts to his name at Newmarket during the last twelve months, including a second in the Cambridgeshire. He's versatile ground-wise and, more often than not, runs well in these big field handicaps.

Bos, Stevie Thunder for me too, showed for a long way at Ascot, and never far away in these races, hoping for a decent run at 22's.

Just checked my results for the trends again for this race, i was left with 5 horses:

Decent Fella who i had backed before - ran very well in ground too soft but drawn on the wrong side!

Atlantic Sport

Bonnie Brae - Hit every trend but I allowed the fact David Elsworth was out of form again to sway me! Had a saver on the day after the morning line but wont claim that as could not put it up!

Captain Bertie - Had to run well after the rain came again!

Jamesie - No chance after the rain came.

So yet again another good race for trends 8)
