The Young Fella

Postby The Young Fella on 16 Jul 2012, 11:49

They seem to have plenty of scope to improve with age, just like their dad.

I hope people won't start knocking Sea The Stars as a stallion if he has a slow start as a freshman sire. They'll be at their best as three-year-olds I imagine.

I keep my flies wide open all the time
And I shot a man in Tesco just to watch him die."

Lovely pictures Fely..The filly looks just like dad, a real stunner and the grey colt by Alpine Rose has grown into a handsome male.

Here is a video of Sea the Star's and Finsceal Beo's filly at Goffs Auction (2011) She sells for 800,000 Euros.
She's an outstanding beauty with her long flaxen tail.

Finsceal Beo means Living Legend in Gaelic an appropriate ready made name for the filly, if not already registered.
Wonder who brought her?

Oh how exciting; I wouldn't've dared breathe if I'd been there. How can anyone talk that fast? As for Sea the Stars, there's a link on Talkinghorses to a photo of him with his mum on the day he was born. Everything about him makes me well up with tears, even now. I can remember the first mention of him on this forum [sadly when his mum died] and I followed him throughout his 3 year old campaign because of that. What strikes me about him looking at photos is his beautiful head. Wish I'd been at York or Longchamp to see him in the flesh. Have got Sean Magee's book about him; interesting that Sean, who has such a love for the great Arkle, should hold Sea the Stars in such high esteem. Not many flat horses touch my heart in that way.

Love to know who brought her, she's a real beauty.
I'm off to look at that link Moe thank you, I also cried when Urban Sea died after producing her last foal, she was a wonderful mare like my other favourite mare Ouija Board who is making a grand job of being a mum.
I'm looking at Sean's book on Sea the Stars this very moment as it sits above my computer in pride of place next to 'The Grey Horse' so I look at Dessie and Sea the Stars every evening when I'm posting.
I always kicked myself that one of the only 2,000 Guineas that I have missed in recent years was the one that Sea the Stars won and I too never got to see him in the flesh. I loved the way he was so laid back about all his races, for a moment you were wondering if he would do it and in the next instant you were wondering why you ever doubted him, love him to bits.

I met Sean soon after the book was published and he said he'd send me a copy; I never dreamt that he'd remember. Pretty decent of him. Don't think he'll be sending andy a book somehow!

That was a more than generous Moe, you must have made quite an impression on him
Andyod obviously not a member of the STS appreciation society, but each to his own.
It's going to be interesting to see which of his foals is first to win a Classic, (STS that is not Andy) great times ahead. :D

Not surprised at that, Reetlass. He's fabulous! :D

Not so sure that I would call the filly a stunner or a beauty, as others have on here :? . Maybe she's just standing funny, or I am a really bad judge of horse conformation. :(
