On Ayr Gold Cup Saturday the racecourse will stage the Silver and Bronze Cups that same day.
Last year the Silver Cup was Saturday and the Bronze Cup was on the Friday.
Anyone see method in their madness?
Surely the 3 day Western Meeting should have a "Cup" run each of the days - Thursday Bronze / Friday Silver / Saturday Gold.
Or is that too sensible or another RFC improvement initative?

The problem here is that all the entries are originally made for the Gold Cup as one race. Those not getting into the field to the Gold Cup are routed to the Silver Cup, and then the excess from the Silver Cup are routed to the Bronze Cup. To have the races on three different days then it would need final declarations to be made on the Wednesday at the latest. 48 hour declarations are over the top in my opinion, so declarations on Wednesday for Saturday would be way too early.
It could be said that the course are victims of their own success in that the Gold Cup is a target for so many.
If the entries continue to grow we could have a whole card of 6 furlong handicaps. Tin Cup, Coffee Cup, Tea Cup, Egg Cup anyone?
