Well lads,
I have to do a presentation on this topic for college and was wondering if any one has any examples. The only two I can think of are Dónal Óg Cusack and Gareth Jenkins.
There are four of us making the presentation so in particular does anyone know of any gay/lesbian horse racing jockeys or trainers?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

It can be argued that man’s instinct to gamble is the only reason he is not still a monkey up in the trees.

Martina Navratilova is the other obvious one, as well as the late John Curry, not many though are there (that are out anyway)

Not sure of any racing people, but there are a lot of openly gay equestrians. The most famous:
George Morris, chef d'equipe for the United States Equestrian Federation show jumping team and one of the most important figures in the history of the sport
Robert Dover, the most honored dressage rider in the United States, four-time Olympic medalist

Justin Fashanu played for Airdrie for a season (same time as Owen Coyle and Sandy Stewart who are the current Bolton management team) and he was very gay.
Built like a heavyweight boxer, it was fun listening to opposition fans trying to extract the urine, one memorable occassion at Ibrox v. Rangers, the wolfwhistles were very noticeable till he took out both Richard Gough and Andy Goram in one fell swoop.
there are plenty of internet stories of Fash, some of his 'home' life were rather lurid.
Isn't Clare Balding the most famous horseracing gay?

Can we not have this thread descend into 'let's take guesses at who is gay' please. I'll be monitoring and if it goes awry it'll be removed.
That puts him up several notches in my estimation.

Sorry Corm that is not my intention and if you feel it needs removing at some stage do it.

Although not a sportsgayer as such, from racing Jim McGarth, (Timeform & C4) obliviously bowls from the pavilion end.
For some reason I’ve always thought it was common knowledge Venetia Williams was a todger-dodger – but I’m really not sure about it.
Nicky Henderson has always looked a bit light on his feet to me.

thehorsesmouth,
Presumably your presentation is intending to determine whether the percentage of homosexuals in professional sport is on a par with that in the public-at-large. If so it may prove to be a worthwhile piece of research i.e under or over representation leading to the question why?
As per the Handedness skew in sport
If not, I see no point in it at all
Your "Well lads" intro hardly inspires much confidence
