opinions?
March 15, 2012 at 22:15 #397079Is this a gambling coup waiting to happen? They are backing him on betfair.
March 15, 2012 at 22:19 #397080They should have looked in the OED and got the spelling correct. Heathens
March 15, 2012 at 22:37 #397084It’s quite the anomaly that
ize
is the original English form and
ise
is the American form. But this anomaly occurs because the change from
ize
to
ise
happened around about the time the pilgrims went to the new world, taking
ise
with them.
But you are indeed correct that the name is spelled incorrectly.
March 15, 2012 at 22:41 #397087Incidentally, the Bosnian spelling of the word is Sinhronizovan.
March 15, 2012 at 23:42 #397105Deffo the E/W bet for me. As much as I want Kauto to win and believe he could do it, this race does have the look of an "upset" about it.
C’mon King Kauto! (sorry

Don`t envisage a fluent round.
March 16, 2012 at 17:51 #397259I wonder how many NH mares were sent to Sadler’s Wells in his stellar career.
Admittedly very few NH breeders have JP McManus’ wherewithal or close connexion to the Coolmore operation but it just shows how omnipotent the great stallion was.March 16, 2012 at 18:30 #397270Even if you gave me another chance now I still wouldn’t back him

Thought he was the worst value I’ve seen for years – sir Tom knew better though!

I’ve always used -ized. Synchronised shows up as incorrect on my (American English) spellchecker.
Anyway I think this was all McCoy today, switch jocks with Long Run and they would switch places in the finish.

I have always thought the correct spelling was "connection", though I am prepared to stand corrected.
As for Synchronised, I backed him cos I liked his white face
, and was saying bye-bye to my money when he was plugging away near the back. Didn’t look held up to me, more like struggling a bit, and so surprised when he picked up and stormed home. AP really does deserve to have been the champ for so long!
And I wonder how many people backed The Giant Bolster to beat Long Run home at 50/1? A race full of surprises when Cheltenham Gold Cups had become rather predictable.
March 16, 2012 at 20:54 #397312The OED offers either spelling and worth lots more points in scrabble using the X!
March 16, 2012 at 21:27 #397317Grand National?
March 16, 2012 at 21:32 #397321He probably isn’t the most ‘stylish’ of horses, but you cannot fault his heart or courage, he just battled and battled and battled, and to be fair, he didn’t even jump that great, but he is all guts and determination.
Got to say what a gutsy, gutsy horse Synchronised is, McCoy chucked the kitchen sink at him, and he responded, and responded in some fashion too.
He has done nothing but improve, and deserves what he has achieved today.
He actually reminds me, in temperament, of Wichita Lineman, not far off in looks too.
A fantastic effort from horse, jockey, and connections!
