It has been scientifically proven over the years that apart from the departed Conundrum I am officially the worst tipster on TRF, even dangerous Dave is considered a pro compared to me. Believe it or not my 4 year old picks more winners than me. We will be watching ATR and I'll say to him so and so will win this race. Who do you think will win? And he'll say the one in the Red and you can guess the result.

So there don't say you ain't been warned......

As I've got money to burn, I might as well put my bets on here so to give you all a good laugh as the bookmarkers have been laughing for so long they are sick of it.....

Dubawi Gold not surprising has drifted and I doubt he'll go off fav for the Irish Guineas, I'm not saying he's a bad horse but he has been priced up on accordance to his 2nd behind Frankel which slightly if not more flattered him due to a good ride from Richard Hughes as the rest of the field had burned up all their gas in chasing the leader Hughesie just rode for the place.

Dunboyne Express has only tasted defeat once in four outings and that was when 5th at Donny, connections have made excuses for that race in which he was not far behind Native Khan the horse that was just behind Dubawi Gold in the English version. Back on home soil a better run is expected.

3-45 Curragh - DUNBOYNE EXPRESS 5/2 £10.00 win

I've had Canford Cliffs down as the future Queen Anne winner since his winning of the St James Palace last year. The bookies at the moment have it down as a 2 horse race in terms of betting but for me it's a 1 horse race. Back in third of the betting is Dick Turpin who has had excuses for his run in the Lockinge fair enough but when Dick beat Canford twice it was before Cliffs had learned to settle and since then 4 Group 1's have been bagged in a row.

That leaves Goldikova. Hughes and Hannon have been raving about how Canford is the best ever trained/ridden so going back to last years race the run of Paco Boy has to be encouraging to Canfords chances. A lot of noise was that Paco couldn't get a mile before he won his Lockinge he could but not in the same class as Canford who has got stronger as a four year old. Goldikova was below par apparently in last years race but is another year older and father time isn't always kind to the best of us. She runs today and I hope she bolts up but in-case the mare has a mare 1st time out blah blah blah I'm going to have my first installment on Canford in-case of a change in the market.

I live a couple minutes walk away from a Ladbrookes shop, and 1 of the staff there is really helpful and will ring through for any requests so I popped in there last Monday and so cheekily asked him nicely if he could phone through and get me 6/4 or bigger Canford for Royal A. He said to leave it with him.

Anyway I had completely forgot the episode and this morning went up the road to get the paper in the shop next door. I noticed one of my friends had walked into Lads so went in for some gossip. Well the member of staff called me over and said he had rang up and enquired about Canny Cliffs and was told they are waiting to see if Goldilocks turns up first because the prices will change accordingly.

Thank you I said.......Ladbrookes - Image.....

Aiden O'Brien has had a near perfect record in the Ascot Gold Cup what with Yeats winning 4 on the bounce and Age of Aquarius just getting touched off last year. It's obviously a race he holds dear. His main contender this year looks like being Fame And Glory and if he handles the distance could prove the best yet. He has bags of class and has run great races with Sea The Stars on many occasions and his win over Sariska showed he processes an engine and a will to fight off a strong challenge.

Rite of Passage is the main contender having won the event last year but has yet to run since. The two clash tomorrow and if the race goes according to the market then Fame And Glory could well shorten again for Ascot. Jamie Spencer takes the ride again and is in very good form so I'm having my £10.00's worth now.

I am possibly driving in the wrong direction down a one way street here, but it's a little bet that will or ok could be of interest for the rest of the season.

The Cartier Awards for horse of the year 2011 will be announced some time in November unless of course theres a strike or they go bankrupt or something  , not to worry.

The winner is decided according to Wikipedia by points obtained in Group races plus votes by the British racing journo's and readers of the Racing Post and Daily Telegraph newspapers.

Last years winner was Goldikova but I'm of the thinking and remember you have been warned to don't read anything I write that She will not be able to produce the form of yesteryear.

Previous years before Goldi the winners were the horses successful from winning the Arc, Sea The Stars, Zarkarva and Dylan Thomas. Workforce last years Arc winner was, if my reading of google was correct the runner up to Goldi for TCA. He has got stronger as a 4 year old according to reports and will go down well with the public and journalist vote if he retains the Arc this season not to mention a possible tilt at the Eclipse and King George along the way and I'm sure connections will want to get a run this year at the breeders cup.

10/1 looks good to me especially as inside information from my mole tells me he heard a whisper from a reliable source that Kingfisher is to spend all his winnings from the 'gone fishing thread' to buy alot of posts and use the votes for Workforce.

It wouldn't be right if I didn't spilt my stakes and go half's on Canford Cliffs as I believe he has the make up to beat the favourite for this years award Frankel may that be over a mile in the Sussex or QE2 or even the Juddmonte if that's the route they decide to go down. Like Workforce this colt has grown over the winter. He was in the running for the award last year but his season was cut short and I expect a better campaign again this time around. Coolmore have got an interest in Canford and he will stand at stud there after this season most likely and it would come as no surprise to see him on the plane to the breeders cup aswell.

Billion the king of the system section is the only person on the universe who buys the Daily Telegraph so all I need to do is throw him a loaf of bread and a packet of crisps and Canford will get 100% of the Telegraphs votes.

Market

Frankel 9/4
So You Think 9/4
Carlton House 3/1
Goldikova 8/1
Workforce 10/1
Canford Cliffs 12/1

Outright winner - WORKFORCE 10/1 £4.00
Outright winner - CANFORD CLIFFS 12/1 £4.00

I enjoyed watching the racing at Epsom today. I hope the weather remains the same for Saturday as conditions look perfect for the old boy Premio Loco who runs at his best with the sun on his back and good to firm ground being ideal and a mile being the trip. This is his time of year with his only real disappointing run in recent times being October last year with that bit of soft in the going.

Track wise is an unknown but Mr Wall the trainer says Loco has good balance he had a bumping match near the end of the Lockinge with Dick Turpin but showed he was strong and ran on well despite having horses either side of him.

That race was a group 1 and was the 2nd time he had finished 3rd behind Canford Cliffs the other in the Sussex the margin in both was about 4 lengths albeit Canford was out for a stroll last time but Mr Wall has hinted Premio will come on for that run aswell.

This is a Group 3 race and Premio is the stable star and there is nothing worse than not having a stable star and that is having a stable star that doesn't win. The 7 year old has got better with age but no horse goes on forever at the top level, they will be keen to get a win for confidence(mine aswell as the horse's).

Diomond Stakes - PREMIO LOCO 2/1 £10.00 win. bog

That's my final offer Bill, sorry, take it or leave it. It's up to you. My advise would be to take it because you buy the paper anyway so for a little vote on your behalf you get a fresh loaf of bread and family sized packet of crisps, you cant lose. I may be as dumb as a dustbin but why would I send you an envelope full of dosh when I can just borrow a quid off thehorsesmouth?

Silly Billy.........

I've put in my second installment on Canford, 5/4 looks good to me although I can understand Goldikova's fan club I firmly believe Canford is the real deal, hey I've even started a scrap book...., the size of the field looks ideal and they should go pretty quick enough early doors, the faster the better I say. May have a bit more on the day, just waiting for the weather now or maybe nick a bigger slightly bigger price on the day, some firms like to standout as biggest price and all that.

Rite Of Passage was my biggest concern for Fame and Glory but with him out of the race and 2/1 still available I've had a little more on the O'Brien horse.

Roll On Tuesday......... :D

Queen Anne Stakes - CANFORD CLIFFS 5/4 £25.00 Win

It seems Willy Hills are going 6/4 stand out on CC how very brave considering when to try to get on via online they are doing scheduled maintenance........How very convenient on the morning of the opening day of Royal Ascot you couldn't make it up. The inside word is they are going to wait for Mr Public to go to work and then open for business., If they think I'm going to walk the half hour down to the shop like the old days only to see 11/8 staring back at me they can think again. They are getting their own back on me as once I accidentally stole one of their little blue pens........

No bets today.

Shame as I fancy Green Desert, Teolane and Memory.

The 1st two look a bit short for around Royal Ascot in a 16 runner competitive races and Memory I have doubts over the going...... :(
