Outlaw Tom runs in the 3.05 at Hexham, although its only a 4 horse race it's not as straight forward.

Tom has shown us that his 2nd at Southwell in the handicap chase was good enough to take a race of this nature today, his last run was one we needed to forget, he was very flat due to him racing for 10 months and he needed his holiday.

He returns fresh and well and hopefully he will do well today, he is a novice and the experience will do him good, he will come on for the run as well, but we're hopeful of a promising run so we can kick his autumn campaign off.

Paul

On the face of it third place seems most likely IF there are no mishaps, but then it a novice chase so you never know.

The top two in the betting are a 128 rated chaser Majestic Mayhem and a 127 rated hurdler Lackamon on chase debut. On balance those two would be most likely to fight out the finish.

The other opponent is Dystonia's Revenge who is basically a moderate pointer/hunter chaser who won a maiden at Cartmel. If he's anything like race ready and jumps round then Outlaw Tom should beat this one.

A pretty solid job done today. He was third, held by two better opponents, but he popped over the fences very nicely. The first two got away down the far side but Outlaw Tom stayed on well from the bottom of the hill and was making up ground on the second by the end. The winner Lackamon might prove to win a decent staying chaser in time.

A few bob for third place into the coffers and proof that this sort of course will bring out the best over time.
