Are you interested in anything else but staying chasers PC? ![]()
It was an uncompetitive race because no other good staying hurdler wanted to take him on. Just as a similar race (for that money) over FENCES with an OUTSTANDING staying chaser in the race – would be uncompetitive.
Big Buck’s is the best staying HURDLER we’ve EVER seen…
He’s NOWHERE NEAR the best staying CHASER we’ve ever seen.
I’d MUCH rather he keeps over hurdles.
I was at Newbury today and privileged to see such a wonderful horse. Didn’t see anyone yawning. ![]()
ENJOY!
As usual you state the obvious whilst missing the point. Its unfair on the horse – nobody cares Ginger. If there was a chaser or a 2m hurdler winning for the 19th straight times in graded races, there would be an explosion of interest every time the horse ran.
It’s "obvious" that staying hurdlers is not your thing PC, imploring Nicholls to run BB over fences belies your true feelings. You see what you want to see. Wouldn’t expect an ultra-uncompetitive race (SP 1/12) to have a thread in the Big-Race or this section… You’d only get the usual suspects saying he should be going chasing/flat racing. It would be "unfair on the horse" to go back "chasing" like you want him to PC. You should’ve been there at Newbury yesterday, an "explosion of interest" when BB appeared. People weren’t interested in the race, just the horse.
I disagree – its constantly the least competitive discipline in NH, and the lack of interest in the race yesterday tells its own story. You reference the short price as the reason? Need i refer to a certain flat horse running at 1/10, 1/20 etc, who drummed up a fair bit of interest?
Its a real shame Big Bucks will end up retiring without testing himself. I live in hope, and its probably forlorn hope, that at least Quevega will challenge him in March instead of another penalty kick in the Mares race. Or should I just "enjoy" Quevega as well Ginge?
