Sprinter Sacre will not face much opposition. But don’t blame the 2 mile distance Befair, blame the Ryanair. For sure it’s been a nice race to watch since its inception; but it’s taken away competition from mainly the Champion Chase, but also the Gold Cup. Especially when there’s an odds-on favourite (probable winner) to avoid.
Sprinter Sacre, Flemenstar, Finians Rainbow, Sizing Europe, Cue Card, Al Ferof, Days Hotel, Sanctuaire, Grand Crus, Somersby and Peddlers cross… could all take part in a Champion Chase.
Wouldn’t that be a race to savour?!
These days there are too many "Top Class" races and connections can avoid the best horses in whatever distance bracket those best horses appear..
