Sprinter Sacre is obviously the most likely winner but at the odds he’s not an ante-post bet for me. Flemenstar is probably more likely not to run than run so he’s another I’m passing over.

I toyed with nominating

Williams Wishes

for this as he’s looked very good his last couple of runs. He’ll need to improve again but the race could cut up a fair bit and I wouldn’t put anyone off an ante-post bet (each way of course).

Finians Rainbow would be interesting if he runs but the Ryanair is another option for him. I’d be inclined to rule out his last run on ground which didn’t suit. That being said, it seems the stable are confident Sprinter Sacre is well ahead of him and I wouldn’t be at all sure he’d beat Sizing Europe again.

Cue Card is another who looks unlikely to run but should he run I think he’d be at least half the price he is now. He ran a great race in the Arkle last year finishing as close to Sprinter Sacre as anything has over fences.

I’m opting for the old warrior

SIZING EUROPE

. He has been blessed with amazing longevity and seems as good as ever this season. If he runs as I expect he will, he’s an each way bet to nothing and perhaps the only horse in the capable of turning over the favourite.
