Love the old tales
nice to hear the losers too but the winners are best to read
I’ve been going to the derby for over 20 years now so concentrate on that a lot. We had made our mind up that Reference Point and Steve Cauthen were a good thing so backed him accordingly every payday. Come the day he was napped up by all and a very short evens fav on the tissue! We always arrive at between 10 and 11 trains dependant so couldn’t wait to see what was on offer, 11/10 and evens was the best offered so we made our way on to the middle of the course and to cut a long story short one bookie went 6/4 so I badgered him to get better until he offered us 2/1 but the minimum was £500, well we had 2 coach loads and they all wanted some so the book came out and we got £1800 so we added another ton each and the bookie took the £2000 bet, the rest was down to Steve and what an awesome ride from the front
Great stuff GDC I remember Louis Freedmans colt well I had a lovely double on him at 10/1 with
Miesque
at 16/1! Happy days! ![]()
