I’m in York about 30 miles north and there has been no snow as yet but flecks are starting
My inexpert opinion is that the track will be deemed raceable at the 11am inspection but may not be come Brocklesby time as the radar suggests there is, what appears to be, a short-lived clearance approaching from the west which will be followed by the more significant snow currently affecting the midlands and points further west. Furthermore given Doncaster’s low altitude the snow could materialise as sleet or rain with the temperature currently hovering around 1-2C
As such I don’t envy the Clerk his decision one bit. Sod’s Law decrees that cancellation – no snow; go-ahead – knee-deep drifts
