Goldencents

for me.

I think Orb is hugely overrated and doesn’t have such strong credentials as Revoulutionary, Overanalysed and a few others. I like Goldencents as he has demonstrated very strong stamina by finishing his races with plenty left to offer. There are many hold-up horses who will need luck to come through the pack and a much more uncomplicated horse will help.

Normandy Landing

looks very ungenuine. Could finish in the frame but wouldn’t back to win as he puts his head on one side.

Black Onyx

at a big price is another I might play for a place.

Beware, Andy Beyer picked Goldencents so he’s bound to lose.

I like Black Onyx but the 1 hole is really concerning. The only horse to win from that position in a 20+ horse field was War Admiral, who had enough early speed to get ahead of the cavalry charge. Black Onyx ain’t no War Admiral.

Also re: Orb, he’s not overrated. He’s looked by far the best in works and gallops on the Churchill track this week, has caught EVERYONE’s eye from Steve Haskin to Bob Baffert to Sean Clancy (https://twitter.com/SaratogaSpecial/sta … 48/photo/1). Also his sire is Malibu Moon, whose offspring tend to be excellent mudders. Bred and owned by the legendary Phipps stable, trained by Shug McGaughey, ridden by Joel Rosario,, if there was ever a horse who had the stars aligned for a Derby win it would be Orb.
