Clearly not a lot can be said for
Toronado
after that as we learnt nothing about whether or not he stays. I do wonder myself though if everyone’s gone a bit overboard about
Al Kazeem’s
performance. If Roger Charlton’s two main points he’s made regarding his stable star all season are to be treated as gospel then he a)needs a bit of cut in the ground and has got away with it thus far, and that b)his main target all year long has been the Arc. When he hit the front today he looked one paced and couldn’t kick on. I think the softer ground that Longchamp in October will bring, along with the extra 2 furlongs could get the best out of this lad. He’s out to 10s now and I imagine he could get bigger. If anything, in a funny old way, today just made him a better Arc prospect for me.
