The Arkle is always one of the most exciting races of the meeting for me, and the 2014 event already looks mouth-watering. Quite unlike Mullins to make such upbeat comments so CG must be well worth a bet at 8s.
I also like Chatterbox at 16s with Betvictor. His hurdles form looks solid with his only defeat being at the festival when 4th to The New One (didn’t jump fluently) and he reportedly goes fencing. His trainer believes he still has quite a bit of physical improvement in him. Also, if he doesn’t turn up, BV offers stake back as a free bet.

Always possible, I suppose, although he’d be seriously limited in options given the talent of his contemporaries. Even if he goes fencing, there’s the chance he might not jump well enough to merit an Arkle entry, but at the price, and with the free bet concession, I’m happy to take the chance.
